Support RBO on #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is next week!

Only two days remain until we cross the Oakland Turkey Trot finish line, officially bringing our Fall 2021 season to a close.

A total of 187 students registered for our Fall 2021 season, representing a total of 71 schools. For the Spring 2022 season, we hope to recruit even more students!

This #GivingTuesday, our goal is to raise a total of $5,000. Your generosity helps us ensure every student receives the support, training gear, and race opportunities to make their first or last RBO season a special one. Can we count on you to help foster the growth of our Oakland youth?

Welcome RBO's New Executive Director, Diana León!

We are thrilled to announce Diana León as the new Executive Director of RBO!

A volunteer with RBO since 2017 and an RBO coach for the last two years, Diana has been a committed member to our organization, as well as a role model to our young female students. We are thrilled to welcome her leadership and are excited for the insight, creativity, and experience she will bring to further RBO's mission and development.

Diana is already off and running, implementing fresh, new ideas into our organization. New initiatives such as the School Recruitment Committee, Fundraising Committee, and Run Mentor Committee will allow our RBO community to become more involved within our organization, as well as the Oakland community.

Welcome to the team, Diana! RBO is lucky to have you as our leader!

RBO Volunteers at Skyline 50k Endurance Run

On August 1, 2021, RBO had the great pleasure of volunteering at the Skyline 50k Endurance Run presented by our good friends at Scena Performance! A typical cool, breezy Bay Area morning made for perfect running conditions for over 300 trail blazers taking on the 21 or 50k of rough trails, steep uphills, and speedy downhills of Lake Chabot Regional Park.

RBO coaches, volunteers, and staff were stationed at Marciel Rd aid station, Bort Meadow aid station, the Finish line, and even swept for the 50k race! We had a blast cheering on these trail runners- even spotted a few RBO runners out there!! (see their shiny medals in the picture?)

We thank Scena Performance for their ongoing support of RBO and for organizing the Skyline/RBO Fundraising Challenge. Read more about the challenge here, where up to $500 of donations will be matched by Scena. Thank you Scena Performance! We can’t wait to help out again next year!
