Application Process:
Step One: Register as a student for the Spring Season with RBO!
After completing registration, you will receive an automated email containing the Senior Scholarship Survey.
Note: Scholarship applicants must be the primary registrant on their account and may not be added to another runner’s account. Please use your own email address to register yourself as a student.
Step Two: Submit the Senior Scholarship Survey by February 26
After submitting the survey, you will receive a link to the informational meeting for applicants and parent/guardians.
Step Three: Bring a Parent/Guardian to the Informational Meeting on February 26 at 6pm
Step Four: Complete the Scholarship Program!
Participate in All Scholarship Meetings
Participate in Community Service Opportunities
Write Reflections on Training and Competing in Races
Complete a Half-Marathon!
Monthly Meetings
Scholarship applicants are required to participate in three monthly meetings. All meetings will begin at 6pm and last approximately one hour. Meetings will be held on zoom.
Monthly Meeting #1: March 12 at 6pm
Monthly Meeting #2: April 9 at 6pm
Monthly Meeting #3: May 7 at 6pm
Community Service Opportunities:
Scholarship applicants are required to participate in at least two community service opportunities. We encourage you to participate in other community service opportunities as well, but only these opportunities will count towards the RBO Senior Scholarship Program.

Reflection Due Dates:
Scholarship applicants are required to write two reflections towards the end of the season. Prompts will be distributed and discussed in monthly meetings. Reflections will be submitted to the Scholarship Committee via email.
Training Reflection: Due Saturday, May 3rd
Race Reflection: Due Saturday, May 24th
Rules & Requirements:
The RBO Scholarship is designated for students in their senior year of high school. Students may apply for the scholarship if they plan to attend college, join the military, or begin a career after graduating from high school.
RBO Scholarship applicants must attend at least 5 practices during the Spring season.
RBO Scholarship applicants must complete at least 2 races/fun runs with RBO (not including the Pamakids SF Race or the Bay Bridge Half-Marathon) during the Spring season. RBO will cover the cost of registration for these events.
RBO Scholarship applicants must attend the Bay Bridge Half-Marathon and complete the half-marathon distance. RBO will cover the cost of registration for this event.
RBO Scholarship applicants must represent the values of RBO and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with those values.
RBO Scholarship applicants should advocate for themselves and personally communicate with the Scholarship Committee.
RBO Scholarship applicants must attend and actively participate in three monthly Zoom meetings (one each in March, April, and May) in order to be considered for a scholarship.
RBO Scholarship applicants must attend and actively participate in at least 2 community service opportunities with RBO during the Spring season.
RBO Scholarship applicants must write and submit all required essays, reflections, and other documents before the stated deadlines in order to be considered for a scholarship.
Participating in the scholarship program does not guarantee that you will receive a scholarship award. RBO has complete discretion to decide whether an applicant has successfully satisfied the requirements to receive a scholarship.
Timeline:
During Spring Season Registration: Indicate Intent to Apply
Check the box on Page 4 (Supplemental Information) to inform RBO that you plan to apply for the Senior Scholarship Program.
After completing registration, you will receive an automated email containing the Senior Scholarship Survey.
By February 26: Submit the Senior Scholarship Survey
The Senior Scholarship Survey will be automatically sent to the email address associated with your account. In order to participate in the Senior Scholarship Program, the applying student must complete this survey and submit it to the RBO Scholarship Committee by February 26th.
Once you submit the Senior Scholarship Survey, you will receive the virtual meeting link for our Informational Meeting on Wednesday, February 26th.
Wednesday, February 26: Informational Meeting with Senior Scholarship Applicants & Parent/Guardians
This is an informational meeting to discuss the details of the Senior Scholarship Program, set expectations for participants, and answer questions from applicants and their family members.
At least one parent/guardian for each applicant must attend this meeting.

You will receive the writing prompts and instructions for this reflection during Meeting #2.
Sunday, May 4: The Bay Bridge Half-Marathon Race!
All applicants are required to complete the Bay Bridge Half-Marathon on May 4th. RBO will cover the cost of registration.
Wednesday, May 7: Meeting #3 at 6:00pm
This meeting is for Senior Scholarship Applicants only. A virtual meeting link will be emailed to you before the event.
Saturday, May 24: Half-Marathon Race Reflection Due
You will receive the writing prompts and instructions for this reflection during Meeting #3.
Friday, May 30: Scholarship Recipients Announced!
You will receive an email informing you whether or not you were selected to receive a scholarship award.
Saturday, June 7: Scholarship Ceremony at Snow Park!
