Given that COVID-19 is still very much prevalent in the Bay Area, it is our priority to keep everyone safe, so that we can continue to enjoy the RBO seasons we all know and love for years to come. In order to hold a safe spring season, we are taking extra precautions closely aligned with Alameda County guidelines, as well as those of the Oakland Unified School District.
Vaccination Policy
In accordance with the COVID-19 policies of the Oakland Unified School District, RBO now requires all participants aged 12+ to be fully vaccinated in order to attend our in-person season.
Additionally, all volunteers 18+ must provide proof of a booster shot by February 1.
Please email your vaccination card to erin@rboakland.org for verification. All exemption requests (medical reason, personal beliefs) should be directed to our RBO board.
Need a vaccine? Check out MyTurn.
Mask Policy
For the Spring 2022 season, masks are required for all participants, but may be taken off during runs. We will have buffs and face masks available for those who need a face covering at practice.
Isolation & Quarantine
We will be following the Isolation & Quarantine guidelines of the Alameda County Public Health department. These state:
If you have COVID-19 and have symptoms:
Stay home until you meet all 3 of these criteria:
At least 10 days since symptoms first appeared
At least 24 hours with no fever, w/o the use of fever reducing meds
Other symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, etc) of COVID-19 are improving
If you tested positive for COVID-19 but do not have symptoms:
Stay home until after:
10 days have passed since your positive test
If during the 10 days you develop symptoms, use the instructions above to know when to end your isolation
If you had close contact with a person who has COVID-19, and you are VACCINATED:
Vaccinated people with an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they meet all of the following criteria:
It has been at lest 2 weeks since your final vaccine dose- final vaccine dose means the 2nd dose in a 2-dose series (such as Pfizer, Moderna), or one dose of a single-dose vaccine (J&J)
Have no symptoms of COVID-19 since the last close contact
Even without symptoms, vaccinated people are encouraged to test 5-7 days after their exposure to a COVID-19 case. If your result is positive, or you develop any symptoms of COVID, you must immediately isolate and contact your healthcare provider or the public health department for isolation guidance.
