Although we're a little late, we wanted to introduce our three newest board members to the RBO community! Please welcome Joe Zarrehparvar, Wanda Cole-Frieman, and Enrique Henriquez. All three joined our board in the fall of 2020.
Joe Zarrehparvar (leftmost photo, furthest L) is the CEO of Wicresoft, a global technology services company with over 7,500 employees and a full range of services, including talent acquisition, recruitment marketing, managed telecom services, IT infrastructure, and cloud solutions. Joe lives in Oakland and is a first-generation immigrant who grew up on soccer and played regularly until 2010. Now, Joe is an avid runner, drawing him to a couple long-distance races a year (he recently completed the Bay Race Three Bridge Challenge!). He also volunteers with the Alameda County Community Food Bank and Berkeley Food Pantry.
Wanda Cole-Frieman (middle photo) is the SVP of Talent Acquisition for CommonSpirit Health where she leads the recruitment function. She has experience in fundraising and development, event planning, human resources, finance, and serving on nonprofit boards. Wanda started running as a kid and from time to time has been a long-distance runner, having completed 9 marathons and many other fun runs from 5ks - half marathons. She lives in Oakland with her husband and almost-adult twins and spends her time running, hiking, playing soccer, reading, entertaining friends, and cooking. She also volunteers for various parent association activities and other board commitments, notably Breast Cancer Prevention Partners.
Enrique Henriquez (rightmost photo, furthest R) is a science teacher and cross country and track & field coach at Moreau Catholic High School. He has been coaching since 1998 when he was a junior at St. Mary's College in Moraga where he ran Cross Country on a full running scholarship. After college, Enrique worked with adjudicated youth in Camden, NJ before coming back to Oakland to teach at Elmhurst Middle School; later, he was recruited to work at the high school level where he has been for the last 16 years. He is a USATF Level 2 certified coach, CCA certified coach, and a USATF Official. An avid athlete, Enrique has done many century rides, marathons, ultramarathons, and everything in between. In his spare time, he enjoys playing with his two boys (9 and 11 years old) and helping the Catholic Youth Organization, where his kids participate in cross country, basketball, and track & field.
We are excited for all the experience, creativity, and leadership our new board members bring to RBO!
